Unlike old mudjacking methods, polyurethane materials are tailored to address specific situations! Polyurethane concrete lifting materials are required for many highway, tollway, and municipal projects. These projects do not even allow mudjacking as a repair option. What is Polyurethane?
Polyurethane is a common everyday material that is all around us everywhere – in our homes, offices, schools, and hospitals. From the mattresses we sleep on to the clothes we wear and the furniture we sit on, polyurethane is one of the most versatile materials in the world today. While there are many ingredients that makeup polyurethane, what ends up beneath your concrete is a solid support structure that will not crack, shrink or washout like mudjacking. Considering the environment, health, and safety, polyurethane is a smart choice!
RR-201: Residential Grade
RR-201 is a residential grade foam that results in a 2.5 – 2.99 pound per cubic foot average density. This material is also high in hydrophobic properties making it suitable for installation in wet locations. Typical applications include raising and stabilizing patios, porches, steps, stoops, driveways, pool decks as well as shop, garage, and basement floors. RR201 is a very versatile foam that can self-adjust (increase in density) to lift heavier slabs and may be used for nearly any type of project.
RR-401: Commercial Grade
RR-401 is a commercial-grade foam with a 4.0 – 4.5 pound per cubic foot average density. Designed for heavy lifting and high traffic areas, this foam exceeds typical specifications for DOT undersealing projects. RR401 applications include commercial concrete lifting/stabilization, DOT highway, and can also be utilized for residential projects. This foam is also high in hydrophobic properties making it suitable for installation in wet locations.

RR-402: Hydro-Insensitive
HF-402 is a hydro-insensitive polyurethane with a 4.0 – 4.5 pound per cubic foot density. Specifically designed to cure and retain physical stability in water, HF-402 is used for deep stabilization in all residential, commercial and industrial settings. This material is also suitable for repairing seawalls. HF-402 will bind and repair unstable ground, displace water, fill voids and increase the load-bearing capacity of the soil.
RR-501: Stabilizing Foam
RR-501 is a 5 lb. per cubic foot density foam. It was developed to have a slower reaction time to allow the material to spread further. Because of how far the material is able to travel, RR-501 is ideal for undersealing and stabilizing joints on rocking slabs. The foam is formulated for stabilization, not lifting.
RR-601: Infrastructure Repair
RR-601 is developed for extra heavy lifting and has a 6.0 – 6.5 pound per cubic foot average density. Applications include various types of infrastructure repair and maintenance. The increased compressive strength of this foam makes it suitable for very heavy loads and high traffic areas. This foam was formulated per request from DOT engineers for specialty applications.
A great example of this material being used is the I-294 Tollway Revitalization Project. Right here in the Chicagoland area, sections within a 42-mile run of I-294 was raised between 1/2″ – 5″ with RR-601.
