🚀 Polyurethane Concrete Raising at Crystal Lake City Hall
This project is another clear example where polyurethane is the only reliable method for raising and stabilizing settled concrete surfaces. The City of Crystal Lake made it clear—they weren’t interested in bids from contractors limited to outdated mudjacking materials and equipment.

🎬 What You’ll See:
Our team injected a high-density, water-resistant polyurethane foam beneath the concrete floor at Crystal Lake City Hall. This advanced material meets Illinois Tollway Authority compressive strength standards, making it strong enough for heavy-duty, long-term use.

In just a few hours, the settled floor was restored and ready for immediate, unrestricted use—no downtime, no disruption.

🏆 Why Acme?
As Chicagoland’s original polyurethane concrete raising and stabilization specialist, Acme Concrete Raising & Repair focuses exclusively on this technology. Every job is powered by our proven Smart Lift System®, delivering safe, permanent results that mudjacking simply cannot achieve.

Crystal Lake City Hall Floor Stabilization

April 8, 2023 10:29 am

An interior floor in Building 100 had dropped along an exterior wall, prompting the property owner to bring in an engineering company for evaluation. Using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), engineers identified voids beneath the slab and issued a formal report recommending polyurethane injection as the correct repair method. Mudjacking was not recommended.

🔹 The Acme Solution – Smart Lift System®
Acme Concrete Raising & Repair was selected to perform the repairs using our Smart Lift System®.

A grid of small injection holes was drilled about 4 feet apart.

Deep injection tubes were installed, allowing access to the subgrade 3–5 feet below the surface.

A specialized polyurethane material was pumped into the subgrade, stabilizing the soil and filling voids.

Once stabilized, shallow injections were performed to gently raise the slab back to proper grade and pitch.

🔹 Why Polyurethane?
Our polyurethane materials are:
✅ 100% water-resistant
✅ Fast-curing for immediate use
✅ Designed to meet D.O.T. compressive strength specifications

The result: a stabilized, lifted, and long-lasting repair with minimal disruption.

At Acme Concrete Raising & Repair Inc., we are Chicagoland’s Original Polyurethane Concrete Raising & Stabilization Specialist and the exclusive provider of the Smart Lift System®.

An interior floor within building 100 dropped along an exterior wall. An engineering company was hired to evaluate the problem and recommend an appropriate solution. Engineers scanned the floor using Ground Penetrating Radar and determined voids existed below the slab. An engineering report was published specifically recommending polyurethane injections to fill the voids and raise the slab. Mudjacking technology was not recommended.

Acme Concrete Raising & Repair's Smart Lift System was selected as the preferred repair solution. We drilled a grid on injection holes spaced about 4-feet apart across the effected area. Deep injection tubes were then installed in the holes, giving us access to the subgrade. A special polyurethane material was then pumped through the tubes and into the subgrade at a depth of about 3-5 feet below the surface of the concrete.

Once the subgrade had been stabilized, shallow injections were performed to raise the slab to correct grade and pitch.

Our polyurethane materials are 100% water resistant, cure almost immediately, and meet compressive strength specifications for D.O.T projects.

🔧 Preventing Concrete Settlement with Polyurethane Void Filling
Concrete problems don’t always start with sinking slabs—sometimes the danger lies in the voids hidden beneath the surface. In this project, Acme Concrete Raising & Repair stabilized interior slabs at an apartment clubhouse before costly settlement could occur.

🏗️ Project Overview:

During a renovation, crews discovered large voids beneath concrete slabs

Some voids measured over 6 inches deep

Left untreated, these gaps would have caused future sinking, cracks, and expensive repairs

🛠️ Our Solution:
Acme injected a special polyurethane foam engineered to:

Spread out to fill large voids without lifting the slab

Provide load-bearing strength rated for highway traffic

Resist moisture to prevent erosion and future settling

Stabilize the concrete quickly, with work completed in just hours

💡 The Result:
The clubhouse floors were fully stabilized and ready for renovation to continue—saving the property owner thousands in avoided replacement costs.

🏆 Why Choose Acme Concrete Raising & Repair?
As Chicagoland’s original polyurethane concrete raising and stabilization specialist, Acme delivers targeted solutions for both lifting and preventative stabilization. Every project is powered by our exclusive Smart Lift System®, combining advanced equipment, high-performance materials, and certified technicians.

Acme Concrete Raising & Repair does more than just raise concrete - sometimes we inject special materials designed to remedy problems before sinking occurs. This project is a perfect example of preventative measures saving many thousands of dollars!

Luckily for this apartment complex owner, a renovation revealed very large voids beneath some slabs within their clubhouse. ACME measured voids in excess of 6-inches deep in some areas.

We used a special polyurethane material designed to spread out and fill voids without causing lift. This material is rated to support highway traffic and resist moisture. In a few short hours, these areas of floor were stabilized and ready for the renovation work to continue.
